ABOUT

OUR HISTORY

We just love ice cream!

At the heart of our story lies a profound love for ice cream – a passion that has been passed down through generations.

The tale begins in the picturesque village of Paterno, Italy, where Angelo Ferraiolo first discovered his knack for creating "bellissimo gelato." In 1935, he began supplying the village with fresh, artisanal ice cream, tantalizing taste buds with a myriad of flavors previously unseen.

In 1950, Angelo made the bold decision to relocate his family and ice cream business to England. With this move, the Ferraiolo name quickly became synonymous with unparalleled ice cream excellence. The legacy expanded even further with the marriage of Angelo's youngest daughter, Flora, to Pat O'Brien, crossing the Irish Sea and ushering in a new era of ice cream trading in Dublin.

The O'Brien-Ferraiolo merger in the early '70s heralded a golden age of doorstep ice cream delivery, as top-of-the-range vans brought whipped delights directly to families. This tradition of excellence persevered through challenging times, weathering both the recession of the '80s and the more recent economic downturn. Today, our company stands strong, boasting a fleet of units ready to cater to any event or occasion.

Under the watchful eye of Pat O'Brien, the business continues to flourish, with the next generation taking the reins. Thomas, Lauren, and Sophie, alongside their father, ensure that every member of the family and company contributes their utmost to its success.

Our fleet of ice cream vans, coffee units, and food units not only adds ambiance and character to any event but also employs the latest catering technology to ensure maximum consumer satisfaction.

At O'Brien's Ice Cream, we don't just serve ice cream – we craft experiences, weaving together tradition, innovation, and unwavering dedication to quality. Join us on this journey as we continue to delight taste buds and create cherished memories, one scoop at a time.
